Southern Patches Volume 1 - Written and Narrated by Jim Lindsey
Sages say silence is golden. Others put silence in a less valued position by calling one group who doesn't speak out, the silent majority. We have an amendment that says to remain silent in order not to incriminate oneself.
I guess it really comes down to what you remain silent about. If the theater is on fire, I sure want a loud mouth in the crowd. But if a group is being oppressed because of cultural, ethnic or religious beliefs, I want the loudest voices protesting against the injustice.
There is a difference between gold and fools gold. You just have to know the difference. And there is a difference between remaining silent and speaking out. It's just plain and simply when too.
